Attractions in Corfu include spectacular beaches, sleepy unspoilt villages, breathtaking views and the sophistication of Corfu town which has been influenced by the French, Venetians, British and Byzantines.

Beaches for everyone from the deep unspoilt sands of St Georges, the shallow, safe beach of Arillas to the wide beach and little harbour of St Stephanos, all within walking distance of your resort. Also for Bathrooms - these tend to be compact with a hand held shower.

Canal d'Amour at Sidari, Churches in Corfu town, Cricket, the Cathedral and more - all to be seen during your stay. Climate - generally hot and settled throughout June, July and August. You may get a day or two of rain in May, September and October. Arillas enjoys a cooling breeze across the Ionian seas, a welcome relief from the heat of Corfu town. You are advised to pack a light jacket or cardigan for the evenings.

Driving in Corfu is on the right but some roads are unmade and narrow. Car or bicycle hire is available at Olga's Travel. We do not recommend scooter hire unless you are experienced.

Eating out is a real pleasure at the many tavernas and restaurants, generally cheap and ranging from the traditional home cooked meals to the locally caught lobsters waiting in their tanks of seawater!!

Forts in Corfu town - old and new - French architecture, Folk dances and traditional costumes.

Greek gods! Especially Bacchus and Dionysos, the Gods of wine and food. Golf course - 10 kilometres west of Corfu town.Honey - locally produced honey and combs.

Heat - remember your sun tan cream must be applied, especially for children. You can buy all brands of sun tan cream in the mini markets of Arillas. Hot water in Corfu is usually by solar heating. Early in the morning and cloudy days the water may not be piping hot.

Ice-cream in Corfu is delicious and almost compulsory when you're on the beach!

Kerkyra - the Greek name for Corfu. Kalimera means Good morning.

Mopeds and Motorbikes are not recommended in the hands of inexperienced riders. Mosquitos can be a nuisance - we advise that you use an insect repellant in the evenings and the electric machines that you can place in your bedroom are cheap and easily available. Money exchange is available at Bank rates.

No holiday would be complete without a shopping trip to Corfu town and your souvenirs of leather, silver, 14k gold, ceramics, copies of icons, hand made lace.

Our representative at Olga's Travel is available for your queries, money exchange, to book your hire car, excursions, loan you books from the library. They open all day and every day. Ouzo - you must try the aniseed flavoured drink.

Passports - a standard 10 year British passport is required which must be valid for at least 3 months. A visa is not required.

Roads can be unlit or simple tracks so we recommend you take a torch and wear appropriate footwear.

Sea food is caught fresh and you can see the fishermen on the beach in the early mornings. Try the sardines, calamari (squid) and taramasalata in the taverns.

Tipping is generally offered at about 10% of your taverna bill. Most tavernas offer a special set meal each evening so you can walk along and choose. A two course meal is generally from £10 per person.

Unlimited sun, sea and sand!

Voltage is 220 volts. You can take your own electrical appliances but you will need a two pin continental adaptor.

Walking to the nearby beaches of St Georges and San Stephanos, lunch at a taverna on the beach then strolling back over the cliffs. Or walk up to the nearby villages of Magoulades, Kawadades and Afionas shaded by the endless olive groves.

Xairete means welcome and you will be!

Yia sas means hello and goodbye.
