Corfu has a good road system which means that nearly all of the most beautiful parts of the island are within easy reach for a day’s ride. Away from the main roads there are quiet lanes through beautiful green countryside, olive groves and traditional Corfiote villages. Cycle hire is available so you don't have to bring your own.

A bicycle is the perfect way to explore Corfu, you can stop wherever you want and soak up the atmosphere or enjoy stunning views over the island. The food in the tavernas tastes even more fantastic too.

The cycling routes we have created here are just some of the roads and tracks in the area that will take you to magical scenic views, traditional villages and wonderfully quiet countryside. Follow our routes or design your own, you will never be disappointed.



Unfortunately for some (or fortunately for others) Corfu is a rather hilly island and all routes involve several hill climbs. Some (like the Pantokrator Challenge) are really tough, but we can assure you that the effort is well worth it as some of the views and scenery you will discover are among the most breathtaking in the Mediterranean.



Remember that only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun and the locals enjoy a siesta between 2 and 5pm where some traditional shops inland may close but tavernas and shops on the beaches and resorts will stay open for the tourists.

All road signs are in Greek and English so exploring the island is fun and generally safe. Buy a good tourist map from any mini market or tourist shop, they are cheap.

Most people speak some English, especially in tourist areas but you will still see Corfiotes in traditional dress – don’t bother to ask them for directions!
